Netizens
A Netizen is a person who is, literally, a citizen of the internet. They are people who enjoy the freedoms of using the web (and all other related systems such as newsgroups, email and so on) and understand that it provides a whole new level of communication ability.
The internet is a communication medium, pure and simple. The web allows people to create web sites through which they can pour out their deepest thoughts, desires and motivations to thousands or even millions of perfect strangers.
A netizen understands this fact, and uses the internet to communicate. However, the netizen goes much further than simple communication. He becomes involved and actively contributes to internet discussions and causes which further his own area of interest.
